Born in Pakistan with Gujrati roots from India, raised in Tanzania and then the United States, Zainab Merchant moved to Toronto in 2018 and is now a reporter with the New Canadian Media. She is a two-time author and journalism graduate student in her final semester at Harvard University. Her published works have been featured in The Washington Post and several independent media outlets.
