Raul Pinto

Raúl A. Pinto is a Chilean journalist with a decade of experience in Canada, working for radio, television, print, and digital media. During his career, he has interviewed a variety of people, from undocumented migrants to the Prime Minister of Canada, as well as movie stars, writers, artists, business people, politicians and others, with coverage almost exclusively directed to the migrant community. He has been nominated twice for Journalist of the Year at the Canadian Latin Awards, and won in 2019. He is married to Sandra and is the father of Ana and Lucas.

New Canadian Media was a member-based non-profit that showcased immigrant journalism. It ceased operations in November 2024. Village Media continues to host its vital archive of work at the same URL for the public good.

Effective October 26th, 2024, the registration of New Canadian Media as a Registered Journalism Organization was voluntarily revoked. New Canadian Media no longer issues official donation receipts and is no longer eligible to receive gifts from registered charities.

We want to thank our contributors and audience for being a part of our journey. 

Effective November 20th, 2024, New Canadian Media, a not-for-profit corporation incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, has been dissolved with Corporations Canada. A Certificate of Dissolution has been issued to confirm this status.

New Canadian Media provided nonpartisan news and views representing all Canadian immigrant communities. The views expressed on this site are those of the individual writers and commentators, and not necessarily those of New Canadian Media.
